Bought a '93 4 door kick two months ago and LOVE it!

A DD, but also for gettin' up the trails and backroads here in the Sierra. Definitely more rallying than crawling, but need to get over some obstacles now and then.

Put 225/75s on which raised the truck exactly 1" and looks great too, BUT I now have a tire rub/cut problem in the rear when the truck is flexed.

The rubbing is near the door so a fender trim won't give me enough clearance. Looks like I'll need at least 1". 

Soooo... I bought a set of 1.5" coil spacers from Sky.

Despite a lot of research here and elsewhere I've still got a few questions:

1. Is it necessary, recommended, or optional to change the rear shocks? If so it seems like the '98 crown vics are the way to go, right?

2. It sounds like I'll get about 1.5" lift in rear and 2" lift in the front.  Is that 1/2" difference a problem?

3. Are there other options or pitfalls I ought to consider?

When I had my 1.5" coils spacers installed, the rear coils had to be compressed a little so thet the rear shocks could be mounted. Super bumpy ride! The shop then put 2" spacers on the shocks and it solved everything. I have since changed the shocks to Monroes. I still have my strut extensions up front though.

Napa has a pair of their brand shocks for around 30 bucks. I don't have the part number, but theyre 3 in. loger than the stock ones. I have 2.5 coil spacer lift and they work perfect.
Don't forget strut spacers, or mount flip

when at full flex make sure your rear spring wont come off the spacer

I say yes since without longer shocks you really restric the droop. As magiccat said, check that  you don;t loose your springs tho!. I got the napa shocks, and then made some limit straps out of 1/4" cable.

Nope works out just about right to level the rig.

As the others said ... the camber adjustment, the strut mount flip, and limit straps if needed ... you should be good.

That lift should also let you run 30x9.50's ...

I'll go with the longer shocks, not a big $$$ item.
Flip the strut mount.
Check Alignment.
