Direct bolt in Seats
« on: May 28, 2006, 02:15:17 PM »
What seats from the Geo-Suzuki line-up [ 1989-1998 2-DOOR ] are interchaneable? I was looking for a set that would bolt direclty into the 89-94 version Trackick. Could I take a set out a 1996 and install them into a 1990?
I ran a search about this and learned that the LSI seats are the way to go. WHat year Lsi seats work?

Esteem seats are nice too, but I don't think they're direct bolt-on.

So if I purchase a base model that has base seats I would be able to directly swap in Lsi version's without any problems? I am guessing minor bolting is all that's required to remove the Trackicks front seats?

I have 1997 Geo Tracker LSi seats in my 1991 GMC Tracker and 1989 Sidekick JLX Seats in my 92 Tracker and they were all bolt in I did learn though that 4door seats are not a direct bolt in to 2 doors hope this helps

Pulling seats on / off any car is pretty easy. There usually 4 bolts (you usually have to slide the seat back and forith to get to them) holding the seat into the car. There's usually 4 bolts underneath the seat holding the seat to the slider rail.

I don't know for shure what seats are direct bolt-ons for trackicks.

A word of caution - looks like that guy gets a LOT of complaints - especially regarding communication.

If you have any wire welding experience and are a bit mechanical, you can build your own adapter mounts.  There are a number of Samurai seat articles at http://www.izook.com including Blazer, Neon and Hyundai Accent that might be useful/adaptable in building a seat swap for your tracker.  The pages are a bit hard to find but I have them in the search database at Ack's FAQ (see signature).

Hope this helps!

I got a set of Corbeau Sport seats from Calmini for my Trackick, with the brackets that are a direct bolt in. They are very well made but a bit pricey, about $700. a set. I'm probably going to have to sell them though as they are a bit too narrow for my wide ass. Corbeau makes a bunch of seats but only a very few will fit in the narrow space of a Trackick. I also tried some of those so called "racing seats" from a local auto parts warehouse, and they are too wide at the shoulders to fit in a Trackick, unless you leave athe doors open! And making the brackets is a PITA unless your a really good fabricator.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

I never buy from ebay without doing a serious look through all the feedback, I just hadn't looked closely at the auction.  That's too bad about the feedback and the shipping, because they looked like nice seats.  but appearances can easily be decieving.  too bad though! :-\
