HI! New guy (Now W/ PICS)
« on: May 29, 2006, 11:26:13 PM »
Hello, I guess it's time to come out of the shadows...
I'm a new-to-me owner of a '00 Tracker.  She has 80000 miles and runs like new. (pics soon)
It's the second Suzuki I've owned. The first is a '86 Sammi.

First I'd like to say thanks for the Info here.  8)
Ordered some early Tracker manual hubs to do the swap posted here and a bunch of other parts and from Hawk Suzuki last week.
The total $$$ shipped was for less than what the local yards wanted for me to pull it myself.  ;D
Got the goods Friday and put it all in today.

Also ordered some 235/75R15 General Grabber AT2 tires to replace the goofy factory Uni-Sex Tiger Paws. Hope to have them and on by Saturday.

<EDIT>Here are the pics I took today with my crappy digital.
The General Grabber AT2s were just put on at a Firestone tire shop, a three hour wait and they put them black wall out after telling them to put them white letters out. The tire guy says, " Well, we usually put non-firestone branded stuff black out and the installer forgot". I asked "Do I get a discount for getting it wrong after such a long wait?"
He says "We can take them back off" >:( >:( >:(
No wonder they only charge $15ea to install. They need to draw in as much first time business as they can as nobody goes back!  |removethispart|@$%*)(^%!!!!

Anyway, They ride increadably well. Better than BFG Wrangler ATs I've had before on a Dodge, definatly quieter, softer riding and seem to have more traction to boot 8) They are light-years ahead of those Uni-Sex Tiger paws.

Welcome aboard.  Sounds like you replaced the 3rd's too and not just the hubs?  How did it go?  I talked to one guy who claimed he did not have to make the hybrid CV axle on the passenger side (the inner stub was the same length on the GV and Sidekick parts he was using).  What was your experience doing the swap?

Thanks Guys! I do feel like I'm being drawn to the Dark Side. LOL

I didn't change the 3rd. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.
Just bought replacement interior plastic bits that were broken/missing and the Pass side door glass that I busted two days after buying the Tracker.
The window track was bent and the glass stuck half way up. Instead of just letting it stay as is until I had time to pull it all apart, I tried to force the window up and BOOM! By, by window  ::) an exspensive lesson :'(

Good move ditching those crappy tiger paws.  They REALLY SUCK in the rain!  Lets just say my bumber and front corner will attest to that!
