Hey guys, I want to know if all the 4 gear auto gear boxes that come on the sidekick are the same?
I know suzuki used at least two kinds, one with the 3 gears that comes with the 3d and the 4 gears that comes with the 5d, are there any other diferences or diferences between models?

3 speed trans was a GM TH180
The 4 speed auto is a Asine (sp)
and has electronics, different but
both will work with the right parts
and computers

The spelling is Aisin
My GV also has an Aisin gearbox, though its maual.

i just replaced my 4sp auto ('96) and the tranny guys said it was a "Toyota" made tranny.......

Does Aisin make the Yoda trannies?

Yes, Aisin makes Toy Trannys as well as
quite a few others, when we cleaned and
serviced my brothers 4 door, we researched
until we found the right model, it took a rebuild
kit for a Toyota trans, and all  the bits and parts
fit great, even had instructions to help.

And I thought I was the only one that had a hard time speling.......
