how to install soft-top

Does anyone have "instructions" that can be posted here, for installing a 2-door 93 soft-top?  I have hard-top and soft-top from the guy I bought from.  Soft-top is a bag of parts right now.  I'd like to do an inventory of parts and then work on some modifications.....

Any pictorals would help out a lot.

Wow.  I HAVE a soft-top, but I've never removed it completely from the back of the rig.  Never thought about it!

Hi,

Try going to:

It is a web site selling hard tops.  Scroll down and find the link to the installation instructions.  It has a detailed instruction for removal of the soft top and hardware.  You should be able to reverse the process from that.

My situation was very different from yours, my top was on rig when I got it, had to figure it out on my own. I got pretty good at taking it off and on by summers end, but learning how to do it was frustrating at times I admit. Take your time, I cracked one of my side windows bending it.

I gave up on using the hard top and sold it...it was a PITA to remove by myself and then it had to be stored someplace while it was off...after insulating the front half of the soft top I had no issues with wind noise or cold temps, that includes a 1.5hr commute with temps around -30C...still toasty warm inside. There are only two issues I have with the soft top, keeping the rear window clean in sloppy conditions, and having to replace windows when some punk slices them cuz they won't unzip them when they break in  >:(

Thanks for those great links.  Seems like you have to choose hard or soft and stick to it.  Screwing hardware to body and so on.

I think I'll stick to my hard top for now....it seems tough to tint a soft top anyways ;D

Nah, its pretty easy & cheap to tint a softop if you use the cling type of tint.

What did you do to insulate the front part?

I used some nylon that was quilted with insulation...looks like the liner of a winter jacket...to that I sewed on some thick polar fleece...I open the latches and clamp the front edge down on the seal (fleece side down), the back edge and sides I tuck over the seal...it holds pretty good and comes out in flash :)
