Yes, I run a 3000 Milemarker on Silver. I have had to use it 6 or so times to pull out either my rig or someone else's. The first 2 pulls were single-line and stuck pretty good, high centered on a boulder the first time and burried rocker-deep in mud the second time. Both times it worked just fine. The third time I needed it was trying to climb back up a steep slope that was too steep to get traction on, even with swampers, and the cable snapped on me about a foot from the hook. This was mostly my fault since I was trying to slip the clutch to help the winch and the cable couldn't withstand the shock loads I was placing on it. I feel that if I would have let it do it's own work instead of trying to help it, it would have done just fine. A few other times I have used it to pull a sammy off a log or rock, nothing major. One thing to keep in mind, it's very slow. I wouldn't go any smaller than the 3000 and even now I kind of regret not spending the extra cash to put a larger winch on it.

I also have a 6000 Milemarker on the Goblin and have only had to use it once so far, but it did very well. Much better than the 3000 would have done. My recomendation? At least pony up for a 6000, it's not much more, doesn't weight a lot more and you'll get more pulling power and a longer cable to boot.

Oh, and please turn off the caps lock. It makes everything you type look like you're shouting! LOL! ;)

Get a bigger one, at least an 8k.
