goodyear wrangler tires....any good?
« on: June 22, 2006, 10:12:26 PM »
i was looking at some tires at wal-mart and came across goodyear's wrangler tires.  they look like a pretty decent tire.   does anyone here have any experience with them, especially in light mud/mud?  right now i'm just looking for a slightly bigger but affordable tire.  i want to get them in 235/75r/15 and they only want $50-ish for them.  thanks

MTR's kick ass. But beware, the Wal-Mart version is different from the regular version. They have less ply's or something. I cant really remember but they are not as good.

That's not odd, that's FRIGGIN WAL-MART!

I wouldn't patronize that damned store and those damned heartless bastards if they were the last store in town.

Wal-Mart will FORCE companies to produce lower quality merchandise, JUST so Wal-Mart can beat others pricing. INFERIOR product, for less..

SCREW WAL-MART..

and that is just the tip of the iceberg.. the WALTONS HAVE NO SOUL

walmart is neither the first, nor the last retail chain to use such tactics. A specific example would be the sears/pirelli debacle of the late eighties/early 90s...

and let us not forget pressure from ford on firestone and the explorer roll over tire failures... there are endless further examples of this.

The same is also true in electronics, stores had price match policies, but then comission exclusive models to avoid matching the lower prices when its not convenient to do so.....

i'm a firm believer in the "you get what you pay for" saying. a $50 tire is just that. i would try to spend a bit more if you can afford to and get a bit better quality tire. it will pay off in the long run.
