you can get allot more crap for a jeep than a zuk in the states at least. that's the good thing about them. they are pretty nice too. I was actually thinking I'd want an unlimited wrangler TJ (the longer ones) but the gas mileage sucks compared to the GV and the cargo room is most likely less and the zuk is already payed for and I'm already getting started at making it off road capable even though I don't really wheel it much

OH for the love of pete, unless you can buy it out right and have no loan DO NOT buy and off road a brand new jeep.

Talk to a banker or an insurance agent about the nightmares that people have when they owe 26k on a wrangler and they roll it off road.

The insurance company probably will not pay to fix it, and they will inform the lender that the vehicle is damaged and no longer worth the loan amount.  If they do pay to fix it they will probably cancel you and post a note in your credit profile stating that you are a high risk insuree, which means you will probably pay more than 5k per year for insurance.

You could easily wind up paying for a jeep you can no longer drive for five years. then when the loan is paid off you have a jeep you still cant drive.

I would never buy a brand new thing to wheel it.. at least that's how I feel now, my opinion may change with time but I doubt it. I wasn't planning on getting a new one but to get one in a while from then. apearently only 05 and up unlimited wrangers offer manual trans which is all I would ever buy but that's what the salesman said and most of those guys are ignorant douches that want everyone to take new vehicles off thier hands and make payments till they die

the diesel GV's are a little more expensive, but i drive a lot..

with chiptuning, my gv has done 0,65L/10KM -a jeep whould hawe needed at least 1L/10KM

if one mile is 1,6KM and one US gallon, is 3,8 Litres. how do i find out how many MPG that is?

I have no idea how to find the US mileage from that but even with some extra price I'd buy a diesel GV anyday. if they were avaliable and I hadn't started modding my 2.5 gas one I'd do a trade in any day

That would be 6.25 miles for every .171 gallons, so aprox 36 mpg.  Not bad at all, especially since Diesel has finally droped down to the same cost or lower then regular gas again.

36mpg, that must be good ;D

if i had a V6, it whould get an LPG conversion right away.

lpg is 60% of the price of gasoline here, so when you driwe a lot it say's back.

+it gives an enviremental benifit ;)

what is LPG? and 36 miles a gallon is GREAT! I get 23 miles a gallon with a modified stock intake with K&N as well as Y back exhaust with high flow cat and magnaflow. 30 miles a gallon for a little 4 cyl car is good around here. I can't beleive you get 36.. damnit I want a diesel

LPG is liquified petrol gas. Its a gas compressed to make it liquid, you can have any petrol powerd engine modded to drive on LPG, you get an extra gas tank and intake nozles.
LPG is bout 1/3 of the petrol pirce round here. Altho the installation costs quiet a bit.

On the other hand, i think the cost of LPG here is bout the same as regular fuel in the US.

What is that with you US ppl wanting diesel engines? lol they're lazy, noisy, puke out black smoke and most of all, lack throttle response.

nils pointed out some good things here, a car that runs on LPG will hawe approx 10% poorer MPG than on petrol and a little reduction in HP's.

but you can switch from LPG to petrol whenever you want.

What is that with you US ppl wanting diesel engines? lol they're lazy, noisy, puke out black smoke and most of all, lack throttle response.

you forgot to mention that they got high torqe al low rpm's, are economical to drive, that diesel engines run's longer than petrol engines, and last but not least: if you chiptune it, you get 20-25% more HP's and a LOT of newton meters ;)

well, my DD trackick, (as described in my signature at the bottom), still gets 32-33 mpg. i cruise at about 3200 rpm and an indicated 62 mph or so.  i haven't corrected the speedo to the tires.  doing the calculations, i should be doing somewhere around 67-69 mph.  i put on somewhere between  250 up to 600 miles a week.  only had it since April and LOVE IT !!!!   ;D

can't beat the fun factor and the great gas mileage will have me doing everything i can to keep it on the road for a very long time.  when this motor gives up the ghost, (only about 125k now)  it will be replaced with a 1.6TD veedub diesel.

and don't forget that you can get bio diesel and if you really want you can make your own bio out of french fry fat and it is a lot cleaner to run and it cleans your engine alot better.....the only down side is if you run B100 you can not have a snowy climate.....shit!!!! that is me out of the question...but i do want a diesel Xterra from like Aussie....that would be the best for me now....and keep my zuke as a toy.....like it isn't a toy already!!!

the only thing that jeep had that i am interested in is the ultd wrangler RUBICON since it is soft top and locked  little lift and tires top down cooler in the back family and go ......oh year they suck on gas and cost a but load to own and repair....oh yah that is why i don't have one!!
