My latest projects
« on: July 11, 2006, 09:16:48 PM »
I had a couple lengths of pipe laying around here so I thought I would try my hand at making a cage. Please feel free to critique it as it's my first attempt and I know there is room to improve. I now need to pick up a bit more pipe so I can finish the back section of the truck. Around the same time I got tired of trying to keep all my stuff tied in the truck or digging through tote boxes looking for one item so I built this enclosed box to keep everything I need on the trail  tidy and locked up.

I plan on running a pipe down to the slider just behind the door then running back and down to tie into the bumper. Possibly run one across just above the tailgate to stiffen it all up at the back

look good! interesting idea tieing into the factory roll bar like that.

as for the chainsaw.. up here its not naughty its a requirement! We get tons of windfalls across our trails and without a saw your screwed.

Thanks guys, I tied into the roll bar for 2 reasons, 1) I didn't have much pipe and 2) I thought it would give it a lot of extra strength in that area and I wouldn't need a spreader there. I will be adding in little things to beef  it up when I get more pipe to finish it off.  By the way Chet, the rollbar is not stock, I built it too :)
