Calmini postage
« on: July 26, 2006, 12:45:06 AM »
i've done a search, but cannot find what i'm after :(

I would like to know, if anyone from the UK has ordered something from calmini, and how long did it take to arrive? Are they reliable etc?

I've not brought something through mailorder from across the pond yet, so have no idea of postage times, would we be talking days or weeeks?

I want the full vitara/sidekick exhaust, but im in a hurry having my stock one nearly fallen off already!  :o

Cheers, Andy

The real problem is likely to be getting Calmini to ship stuff to you, in the past they have always refused to ship refering people instead to the UK importer. I have bought stuff from other US suppliers in the past, most of them have been pretty good and using air freight its often quicker than ordering from a UK supplier.
Don't forget to add Import Duty and VAT to the total along with any handling charges the freight company might add (Royal Mail is around £20 IIRC).
Air freight (3-4 days) would be expensive because it takes into account size and weight, I doubt if it would be worthwhile. Surface mail is very slow (around 8wks). Have you tried LA Supertrux or Specialist Leisure?

I would not have an exhaust shipped. Don't your local exhaust shops do custom jobs? Would be WAY cheaper than ordering theirs. I had a full 2" exhaust put on mine for $150 CDN! No header though

thanks for the response guys, its been a few days since i emailed calmini and they havent replied yet, so it doesnt give me much confidence there. Havent seen the Specialist leisure site till now, and they look promising, think i might settle for them!

I've asked about for a custom job in the local exhaust places, and no one really wants the bother. I'm not fussed about performance, but i was told by a few companies, the replacement new stock one would set me back £200+, so i thought, why not stick a nice one on for pretty much the same price!!

Thanks again, thats answered my simple question anyway  ;)

I just order Calmini 6" kit to Russia.
I have some problem and find other way.

My friend in US buy kit and repack package and send it by USPS.
Finaly about 4 or 5 package 200$ each.
I think he can ship and to UK too.
