so how do i know if i can flip my rims or not?  mine are 6 spoke rims if that helps any but just from looking at them they look like they can be flipped    come on guys i'm pretty dumb here about this...

if you look at the holes on the rim where the lug nuts come in contact with the rim one side is beveled to insure the wheel is centered on the hub.  If you flip the wheel that bevel will now be a gap on the back side of the rim, and the contact area for the lug nug will be significantly reduced making it unsafe to operate.

Edit:  when I went outside to look at my stock wheels, they are beveled on both sides.  I dont' see any reason why you couldn't flip them, but I don't know why you would want to.

Wider Track width.  I went the easy route and bought el' cheapo steel wheels from Summit Racing.

ok let's say they're not beveled(i don't know right now if mine are or not) could i bevel them a little to make them "safer"?

Beveled or not, there is another serious consideration.  Reversing the wheels will move the tires  far to the outside.  This puts a lot of stress on the spindle. 

I have seen footage of a Tracker with reversed wheels  that lost a wheel on an expressway a few years back when small diameter wide tires on reversed wheels was a short lived fad.  The spindle sheared off the front suspension. 

If you decide to reverse the wheels, be careful .

You can get wheels from Summit racing as cheap as  $31.88 for a 15X7 or $33.88 for a 15X8 in just about any offset you want.  Or you could find some CJ7 wheels.

you could also use wheel spacers, which will make the tires stick out a little more without actually reversing the wheels.

well that's enough for me to reconsider it then.  i guess i'll just have to deal with it for now until i can get some cheapo's.  thanks guys for the help.
