Fast tracker
« on: August 05, 2006, 11:33:31 AM »
I have a 96 with the 16v motor.  This thing is suprisingly quick.  I am driving it daily about 100+ miles.  On the highway it likes to cruise at about 82 to 85 mph.  Have to work to keep it under 80.  I can spin the wheels on black top and cerrp them in slamming 2nd gear.  Any body else have a tracker with kick?  OR is this just one of the fast ones.

Mine's quick too, 95 Sunrunner 16valve, I just bought it to replace my old 92 Tracker 8valve - I was more than impressed with how quick it is, it's kinda like driving my old civic  ::) I need to be careful now, as my 92 had a hard time holding 100km/h - now this one I cruise on the highway to work at 120km/h, and it still has pull to speed up and pass.

I take a 200 mi round trip everyother week.  The only time I see 80, is down hill, or with a tail wind.  I have a 95 4 door.  did a tune up also, except I have yet to change the fuel filter and pcv valve.  I even have a drop in K/N.  I really miss the old crown vic I had for for that trip.  But I have seen places I would have not seen if it were not for the zuk. :)

i have a 92 geo tracker, 1.6 8V. she chirps the tires very time I go around a corner. I guess a welded rear will do that. so i guess mine is not all that peppy after all. i am turning 31" tires too. Oh yeah mine will do 160 kmh, it just takes a little while to get there. I have a K&N cone filter and headers and a 2 1/4 inch exhaust all the way through with a raptor muffler on her. she sounds pretty gnarley at the higher rpms. :D
