I'm not asking why they aren't required. I've never seen a quad with one though and most all 4x4 have some sort of roll protection. Is the likelihood of tipping one less that with a 4x4? I would think it would be greater since you typically see them going up sharper inclines at higher speeds than a 4x4.
lol, They roll over all the time.. but I don't think I would want to be stuck inside a rolling cage of doom going down a hill.. you just get the hell off of them before they roll on you.. I can see a roll cage causing more harm than they protect. You hang an arm out, and it gets broken or ripped off..
Nope, I think it's way safer to be able to get off of it, and out of the way.
Besides, you stand up on an ATV when you are jumping, or going fast, or climbing, and a cage would get in the way of that for sure.. riding an ATV is a completely different experience than "driving" a 4x4. you RIDE an ATV, it's physical, it's athletic, you lean, stand up, use body english. They are relatively light, compared to a Kick or Sammy, and you just don't want to stay with it if it tips or rolls. You get the hell off.. take my word for it.. lol
Cages on an ATV just don't make any sense...
