Project #2 completed![PICZ R HERE!]
« on: August 11, 2006, 10:00:52 PM »
Hey guys, just finished my next samurai project, been real busy and havent logged onto the forums.well i didnt get to take any before pics, since i bought the van and went straight to the shop.basically i converted a rotted down 1985 Jimny into a Samurai.I will post pics  tomorrow,or as soon as im able to.mods done:
full custom body job and paint-changed the roof to the high top,new doors, front cut off a japan imported turbo model with foglamp grille + hood scoop. painted in liquid orange.using TOYO street tires on the stock looking rims.

mechanicals...this is the intresting part..
the old 1000cc engine was....crap,my lawn mower probably would have outrun it.so we swapped in a Nissan datsun 120Y engine 1410cc with a 4fwd
changed front and rear diffs to that of the samurai, adding front disc brakes, samurai T-case (yes the 4wd works!) with a K&N intake system,Magnacor racing plug wires,NGK iridium IX plugs,MSD coil.

interior: custom made door and rear upholstery, sparco front seats, bleached my dials, sony casette/radio head unit w pair pioneer 3way speakers.

well that's basically it,ill post some pics soon.i know u guys prob tinkin...hmmm that nissan power plant makes no sense..well i thought that also, until we were finished.it puts out quite alot of torque, like alot!and the 4spd makes climbing hills a breeze, not to mention great on gas!!only downside is these older nissan engines are a bit noisy. 8) 8)

i have an entire turbo setup for my samurai, everything down to the nuts and bolts to bolt it on, is it smart to use a turbo in mud/water/whatever else i may get into? i just dont want to blow my new turbo or motor up.
