Samurai info...help a noob
« on: August 15, 2006, 01:52:49 AM »
Hey iv been looking for a car to buy and recently have been getting desperate. A friend of a friend is selling a recently painted blue 86 samurai hard top with about 67k miles (or 670k miles but i doubt its that) cosmetically and mechanically its perfect (i heard havent seen it for my self) and i just wanna know what performance i can expect from this and what mods can be done to give it some more power. And im not into the whole mudding and whatever else it is so the furthest off the road id get is the local rally events in the gravel...BTW i live in miami

If your asking about power then I'd say a Sammy is not for you. There isn't much you can do to get performance short of doing a motor swap.

bone stock on flat ground with no headwind, 70 to 75 mph is about all you'll see.

If you are interested in speed, I'll give you a hint... top speed is measured in furlongs per fortnight...  If you are interested in being able to climb a tree, you've found the perfect vehicle...

It's an aquired taste, but once you start climbing almost vertical slopes you will never be the same...
