I bought a keyless remote "with programming" from ebay for my 2001 4dr ZR2 Tracker (that I have the window sticker for so I know it came with one) but the programming instructions they supplied do not work for this vehicle and the seller has gone incommunicado. 

I've searched the site here and not found anything.  If anyone knows how to do this could you please help me out?

I found out the hard way myself.  We have an '01 XL-7 and bought a replacement only to find out that it wasn't programable.  The newer models are.  There is a way to find out by looking under the dash at the unit but now I can't remember what it was, hopefully someone else can come in here and help you out.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.  Dave

I had already looked under the DS dash because I remember someone talking about a box with a red button long ago, but found nothing.
