Calmini Idler Arm Brace Fitment
« on: August 30, 2006, 05:10:53 AM »
On Calmini's website, it says this brace is for 89-94 2dr only as the frame rail and the support location on 95+ 2 dr being different, but I didn't think the frame changed till 1996. Can someone shed some light on this, or let me know if you have one on a 95, I was thinking of getting one of these, and then later upgrading the idler to the Sky piece and have both.

Both of these are GREAT upgrades to help keep the Sidekick going straight. As for that brace, I think there are even more variables than that. For instance, my '89 Japanese built Sidekick did not have the tab on the frame where as '90 Canada model did. The difference is the presence of the 'tab' on the frame where the brace bolts on. If it's not there, it's easy to fabricate one so that you have it on there.

From the Gear Guide Section: http://www.zukiworld.com/month_040104/feature_skysidlerarm.htm

You can see in this picture that the 'tab' on the frame was fabbed up and welded on afterwards:

Thanks Eric, That must hold up and be super strong, I think if anyone was to break one, it would be Mike Hagen.

Yes, those two mods are "Must do" in my opinion for IFS front-end Sidekicks.
