Big South Fork, South Loop Trail?
« on: August 30, 2006, 12:27:14 PM »
Does anyone know where this trail starts and ends? I saw the ride report on this site but it doesn't tell you where to start. I'm headed down there this weekend to check it out and do more scouting for the up coming Daniel Boone trip part 2.

Have you done anything to your new one??

I was itching to go somewhere this weekend too.. Still have the stock tires on the 96, and the Turtle isn't quite ready, although it would make it anywhere...  SOOOOO... I guess I will have to wait for DBAT PII...

Hey Pat (that IS you isn't it???? I thought 89tintop was DJ's handle????confused..)

, did you email me and I didn't respond earlier this month?  I think I let one slip by

Nope, I haven't seen it. Whats the link?
I just finished installing a 2" lift about 15 minutes ago. Gonna go do some mild pre running with the wife this weekend and test it out.   ;)

i think link was deleted, anyway it is lifted with grand cherokee coils in the rear and modified coil cups running stock springs in front with 3inch body lift and a welded rear with some beefy custom front and rear bumbers. it sits pretty good and clears the 32's with ease and how the ps is sweet and much needed, I got it with ps and 265/16's and wow a bi|removethispart|@!* to turn but no more problems now just like butter. I said hey for only $600 with a removable hardtop and 80k on motor I could'nt go wrong since I allready sold the hardtop on the bay for $404.I allready have a hardtop so I might as well try to recover some of my $$$.

Still stock... but has potential... :D

I am trying to figure out if I want to sell the "turtle"  and fix this one up, or just keep fixing them both up, leaning towards a bit more radical with the old one, and keeping this one street friendly but trail capable...  I wish it had AC..then my mind would be made up.

We should take our stockers and run the complete TransAmerica trail next year.  ;D

You might try contacting someone on the Kentucky Krawlers or We Go Offroad forums.  I think both groups do a lot of wheeling in that area.
I'd love to make this trip as I haven't had a chance to wheel much since the Melt.  But its doubtful.  I still might mention to the hubby and see what he thinks.  We have some repairs to do to his Sami first.  But we're putting new tires on my brother-n-laws Rubicon on Saturday and I know he'll be itching to try those out!

Well, by then, I will probably have a 2" lift and some 235's... but that is still pretty damn stock..

If all goes a planned, you won't recognize this truck by "next year"  but then again, who knows.. I have had 14 cars this year... who knows what I will have NEXT!!

Still looking forward to Part 2... Lil'Red, we are going to do the run in November... still plenty of time to plan ahead...

Quaddawg, I don't see us making an overnight trail ride.  Ain't crazy about packing all that gear with us while we're wheelin' (prefer to set up camp and wheel from there) and don't want to have to drive the Sami on the road back.  But we might at least meet up and ride for a day!  We'll see.

I think we're going to go to Livingston this weekend but subject to change. And I'm not sure what days we'll be riding.  Probably staying at the Day's Inn in London.  Jeff or 89Tintop (or anyone else!) if you should make it down that way, keep an eye out for us.  Black Sidekick with yellow nerf bars and green Sami.  Channel 37 on CB unless we run with another group.  I don't think the Rubicon will be with us.  So far he has only committed to running his new 4" suspension lift and 33" tires at local pipeline area.  I've run it in my stock Tracker on 215s!

ah.. come on!  lol.. you GOTTA make the November run..  A small tent doesn't take up much room, or time to pack..

ANYWAY, would LOVE to come to Livingston, but it's raining here, and I don't have time to fix my front end today, maybe some other time!!!

Well, not sure yet if we're going to make it over there.  Planned to leave around 2 today and ride all day tomorrow.  But we've spent the day working on the Sami and are in the middle of swapping rear thirds now.  It'll depend on if we have any problems there.  Hubby is very motivated to get that Sami rolling.  He knows how disappointed I will be, if after two weeks of "urging" him to get it fixed, it keeps me from wheeling!!

If it does, guess he'll just have to make it up to me by going on the November DB run!!
