Problem removing wheel bearing race

96 Track 4WD

The right front wheel locked up when the wheel bearings disintegrated.  I have been able to remove everything easily except the bearing races.  I was able to use a gear puller to pull the outer bearing race off of the axle, however I can not get the inner bearing race to come off.  I tried several gear pullers and pliers.  Any suggestions?  I am thinking of either heating it up with a torch to loosen it or using a Dremel tool to cut it off.  I just don’t want to do damage to anything else.

I guess I should ask about the order of the components also since what I see and what I have in a 97 FSM are different.

Inner hub

bearing
circlip
oil seal - rubber with metal spring like item in it

Outterhub

bearing
a metal spacer or washer for lack of a better description
bearing nut
bearing nut retaining plate with 4 cheesy/crappy screws

Am I missing anything such as other seals or something else?  Of course I know the locking hub mechanism is on the end.

I would try to cut a slot in the race with a dremel tool.

I have had this problem many times with buses
if you have room use a hammer and hit the race all the way around right on top of it this stretches the metal making the bearing larger in diameter and then can be pulled off the dremel works to but be very careful not to nick or cut the spindle or it will cause a lot of grief.

Just did this today i used a sledge hammer in the hub on the race and on the other side of the sledge with a large hammer.When it got when the sledge hammer could not go any deeper i used a large punch for the rest.Mine was preety tight to.

Only thing i ordered was the new bearings and race and  the 2 seals 1 big and one small.

Used the old race to tap the new one in .

If you grind the inner race down until it is quite thin then hit it hard with a large hammer it will crack and come off quite easily.
