There is a coolant/heater valve on the firewall, kind of close to the battery.  That valve is actuated by a cable that goes to your heater controls.  I have seen several of these where the cable has come loose or broken; the valve never opens, so you never get coolant flowing to the heater, therefore no heat...I'd start there first...
My rig is a fusion of Jazz and Funk; I call it JUNK

The heat in sammis only comes from the defroster vents and the "feet" vents.  The regular vents only blow outside air, not heated.  Weak heat most likely is from your heater core being blocked.     Vacuum off the top of the heater core and you should be set.

go on the drivers side and pull the duct from the heater box that runs to your defrosters.  Drill a 2" hole with a hole saw ABOVE the heater core.  You can see the bottom of the core from the lower vent, just eyeball about 1 1/2"(thickness of the core) and drill from there.  Use a vacuum to clean out all the debris, you will be suprised on all the junk that collects in there.  When you are done cover the hole with some duct tape or similar and you are done.
