First I'd like to say I'm new to the forum even though I have been reading tips from you guys for about a year, and I really love all the great stuff you guys have done to your kicks.  My question is im looking to get around 2 or 3 inches of lift out of my 1996 Tracker 4door without having to spend $700 From Calmini.  I thought about switching the front springs to the rear to gain some lift but I dont know which springs would be good to use in the front.  I just dont want to shell out that kinda money when i know there is ways out there to build my own since ive seen many of you guys do it.  I've been working on cars all my life and it wouldnt be a problem to do I just dont have the knowledge of what parts to use.  I bought my Tracker about a year ago and have been dieing to get some lift under it so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The front springs are actually shorter if I remember correctly, plus they have a much higher weight rating.

There's an article in the archive of a member putting Grand Vitara springs in his 4-door kick - they gave him 2" of lift. Another option is coil spacers, and/or a body lift.

Reading that article again makes me wonder what the GV springs would do in a convertible 2-dr... 

If $700 is your spending limit, you could easily be under that with a 2 or 3'' body lift, or coil spacers.  I bought the coil spacers, strut spacers, and body lift from Sky for roughly $300.  with a combination of the two you could achieve as much as 5'' of lift, and both are fairly simple to install.

yeah, the front springs are quite a bit shorter than the rear springs. personally, i would use coil spacers, since im not a fan of body lifts.

Thanks for all your help i was figuaring on going with body lift...another question i had was i wanted to run 31/10" tires and i was wondering just how much lift do i need to be able to stuff those under my truck...i was figuaring about 4 inches....thanks again

I'm running 31-10.50's on my Silver Tracker with just a 2" body lift and 1-1/2" coil spacers... Sammy rims and no swaybar. They clear nicely with only slight frame rubbing on full lock, which I could easily adjust out with the steering stops, I just haven't done it yet.

Thanks again...i just purchased a set of 2" coil spring spacers off ebay wich look remarkably like the ones that are being sold on here.  Front is 1.5" and rear ones are 2".  Well see how this goes then id like to buy the rocky road 2" body lift...i thought about the 3" from calmini but it seems like it might cause to many problems.

im running 31's on a calmini 3" suspension lift, and it does good on pavement, but i need about 1" coil spacers to do better off road.
and i love calmini, they have good stuff, but i wouldn't get their body lift. go with the rocky road kit if you want a body lift.
