alright I had the sub in my tracker up a bit
(volume wise: maybe half a block-wise worth of bass)

shut off and went inside

came back out and now whenever my radio volume goes past half it dies to a soft whisper
AC does roughly the same thing.  If it goes past half-power it stop completely.

I checked the fuses in the engine compartment and by the steering column and theyre good.
Only fuse I didnt check was behind the stock CD/cassette player (if it even has one... ?)
now the stock deck wont even turn on

Whats up with that?
Its doesnt feel like the alternator.  What could it be?

i would check your power wires, or ground wires,(or battery terminals)  if the amp isnt getting enough power it will cut out.  if thats not the problem check your battery,or alternator, it might not be putting out the voltage needed.

i havent checked if the amp is getting power

but the stock deck is getting no power (no clock even)

it might also be that the battery is low because i havent driven it for a week

  • stretch the limits of reality!!!
It sounds like your system starving for juce. Probably your battery is low and droping close to or below 12V and starving your systems that require a minimum of 12V to operate. Since youhave not ran the truck in a while, you probably just drained the battery sitting there thumping. Try to charge the battery back up and see if it makes a difference. IF you drained it to low you may need a new one.

FYI Dont try to run your system till you charge it up good and get the battery tested. You could over work your amp running it on low voltage causing it to clip out and trash it.
