LOS ANGELES - Tom Carney will resign as vice president of sales at American Suzuki Motor Corp. on Oct. 31, the company says.
Carney, 48, joined American Suzuki in 2001 and was director of sales and marketing before being promoted to his current position in March.
The company created the position of vice president of sales as part of its quest to reach 100,000 annual sales in the United States. Its dealers sold 81,328 units through the end of September.
Koichi Suzuki, president of the company, will take on Carney's duties until a successor is found.
