Hey guys Ive searched all over the net and cant find anything...the other day my check engine light came on and the o/d light flashed....so i pulled the code that said "Trans range sensor circuit malfunction" Now i believe this is the part on the trans that tells the computer what gear its in? Whether its Park neutral or reverse....its a 1996 auto 4x4...i have a guy who has a whole trans but i dont even know what this thing looks like or were it is on the the trans...anyone have a clue the dealer wants $316 bucks to fix it!!!
SO my question is what is the trans sensor ....does anyone have any pics(im more of a visual person) or can anyone at least tell me something about what i need to do cause no one know what im talking about......thanks so much guys without this forum i woulda just dropped 170 on my egr valve but intead i searched on here and cleaned it and its working great...
has anyone out there had this problem! thanks in advance
