I've only noticed a change from 2wd to 4wd, not from yr to yr....
On another note, I have a 4wd 91 tranny and t-case in perfect working order for sale.

there is a change in spline count at some point. I don't know what years but I bought a driveshaft off a newer Geo and it had less splines but bigger splines on the slip yoke portion. I had a 90 geo which had smaller splines but more of them. I just switched the slip yokes..
