Alternators
« on: November 02, 2006, 10:02:50 AM »
I was thinking about alternators,
adding some lights to a stock samurai, i dont think its to good of an idea.
I was going to see what a majority of people ran for aftermarket alternators.
what brand are you running and how many amps?
this goes for Tracker and Kick owners to, and to all no samurai owners.
Thanks.

i run dual batteries in my 92 tracker with a stock alternator and works great. i use an isolator to divide both and run my acceserories on one and my main one for starting.

no pics but was real easy to do.put 2nd battery in back of tracker ran wires from the front to the back battery.mounted my isolator(auto zone) up front not far frommain battery(actually mounted over the strut opening) the isolator has instructions real simple alt mounts to one the main mounts to one and the 2nd mounts to one stud. then just hook up your accessories.been runningmine fora few years now love it. I take itfishing and use my anber fog lights for night fishing with no worries also i have a portable winch i can hook up to easy front or back to myself out.or when im camping i can hook right up to 2nd battery to run camper lights etc with no worries about starting back up.
