As asked, finally some pictures of the modified top of my Gwendolyne ('93 Sidekick):

It's simply a normal top, cutted with a jigsaw, with a sheet of polycarbonate bolted on.  Very easy to do, take only about 1 hour (plus the time for the silicone to cure).

It use to be completely transparent but I add a sheet of smoked plastic last summer when the top of my head begin to look like fried chicken. :-\

There's a old saying in Quebec who said: "Grosse corvette, p'tite quequette!".  It means "Big cars are for those who have to compensate for a very small wiener".  Therefore, I love my VERY SMALL Zuki!!!

i like, now if i just could find a hard top for cheap enough, heck i might just build my own hardtop with plywood and plexiglass

does it have any leaking problems?

in my are (Humboldt county CA)
we get loads and loads of rain, expesicaly this time of the year.
nice muddy trails, but if you have a pin hole leak...you know it haha

looking at it...

was wondering why the plexiglass isnt on the outside

i know its probably for astestic reasons but doesnt the water just pool in there

I had my top modified by rally top....(who made it)


I take it from the pictures that this is a solid window?

 :P Why not just install a sunroof? I put one in my front section and looks factory.
I agree the glass/plastic should be on the outside.

The lexan sheet is inside mainly for security reason, if a part of it detach itself because of the shaking or the wind I prefer see it falling inside the car than going to hit someone (especially at 100 km/h) >:D

It's true than it tend to make a pond but it's completely sealed and have no leaks.  The water desapear as soon as the truck move. :P

I can easely add a second layer of lexan on top to eliminate that problem but it's really not that bad so I let it like that.
