Emergency Brakes
« on: November 04, 2006, 01:42:05 AM »
Just bought my first 91 Tracker and just found this fourm. Is it any problem replacing the emergency brake cables both of them on the Tracker are rusted in too in front of the rear tires? I am also wanting to add a mech. oil pressure gage where on the motor can I get the oil pressure reading ?
Thanks

I'm not sure how difficult it is to replace the cables, never had to do it. But the oil pressure is easy, use a tee fitting off the oil sending unit, then you can have both idiot lite and guage. You may have to fit an adapter into the sending unit port, if you can find one, or, I tapped mine out to 1/8th npt to fit a tee in, which required cutting down a tap to about 1/2 in. so it can cut the threads. Clean out any metal with each twist, and oil the tap real good so the alum. sticks to it.
