Hello,

Considering new 2006 or 2007 GV XSport 4x4 . How much off MSRP can I realistically get? What is your experience?

I test drove one yesterday. Brakes seem kinda soft. Is it because there are new?  Can you give me a feedback on yours?

I've owned my 06 GV Australia model for approx 2 months now - I think it's pretty much the equivalant of the US XSport model once I drove away - constant all wheel drive with selectable 4 high and 4 low.  We don't get Electronic stability control or Keyless entry as an option.
Our recomended retail price for the V6 model is $34000 (in Australian dollars - multiply by 0.75 to get US dollars)
I optioned mine with about $4000 worth of extras (for our market) - alloy wheels, fog lamps, cruise control, floor mats, window tinting, tow bar and color coded mud flaps... as well as paint and fabric protection.  All up, the dealer gave me a generous trade and discounted my drive away cost of $38000 by about $4500.
Markets and models differ, but if you work the percentages, you might be able to negotiate a similar deal....

Oh, and the soft brakes - I noticed this when I test drove the model as well - but have since put it down to the nature of the ABS on the vehicle....  It's never failed to pull up quickly if I hit the brakes hard...

That's a good question Sergio 
Here in Australia, it's about the only SUV model that isn't disc brakes front and rear.
I haven't noticed any problems with my brakes - they definately pull the car up quick when I need them too.
It certainly wasn't a deal breaker on my decision to purchase the GV...

I bought 2007 GV X-Sport last weekend. It's a great little SUV - we love it. Now we're going to do some off-roading this summer. By the way, that soft brake feel is gone after first 50 miles. Braking is very good! Thank you for your advice.

Economics/cost cutting.  It costs the manufacture less $$$ to put on drum brakes rather than disc brakes...
