lockers?

ok, so i took my sidekick completely apart (long story) and i want to add a rear locker. i dont really like the lock-rite, and i dont want a spool or welded gears, so what are my other options? it has the 10 bolt rear axle.

I'm in the same boat. Is the "Gearless Locker" made for Suzukis? Mine is a daily driver, and really don't want to put a locker in either. The only differentials I know of are the ARB, Detroit EZ locker, Lock-Rite, and Calmini offers the factory limited slip unit.

The Gearless is no longer available as far as I know. When it was available for the Zuks I thought it was great but it went off the market before I could get one.

$765.00 for arb! thats just too much. maybe sometime in the future, but i want a winch before spending that much on a rear locker.

When i do invest in a locker, the only way i would go is ARB, unless i had like a dana or 14 bolt, then it would be OX.  But ARB is the only way to go if you want to Keep your rear tires from chunking out, you keep your tight turning radius, you can make the sharp turns on tight trails.  Very worth it, i know lots of people with them and they are very happy with them...not to happy with how small there wallet is after buying them but they soon get over it ;D

ARB's aren't that expensive for some people....  If you break enough parts, the replacement costs can add up quickly if you're using an un-locker (lockrite,etc).

meh
i just weld mine and you can't beat it for cost vs function.
it drives fine ont he street with the 33's, and is killer on the trails

throw some 33's on, weld the front and rear and you won't need a winch.

What's wrong with LOCK RIGHT lockers?
I have a 2 wheel drive 87 TOYOTA van and was thinking to add a lock-right lockers to my rear.
I use my van all the time (work,fun, Highway, city, and gravel,dirt ). I like the van a LOT, it is very convenient (a lot of room, short wheel base, economical, reliable) but I can't take it on some dirt/gravel roads which have muddy sections of road in them, the van gets stuck easy (wheel spin) that is why I have been loking into lockers.
I don't know much about lockers but so far what I have read is lock-right is the simplest/economical way to improve my traction but I am not sure what the side effects of adding a lock-right whould have on my other driving cituations.
high speed highway (60-70mph), breaking, cornering, city driving, tire wear, hazards/emergency?
From reading this thread, most seam to be opposed to it!! any more feedback whould be appretiated .

aussie lockers are a really good lunch box locker, a lot better than lock rite, they are a lot more reliable.  They dont pop and jump as bad as a lock rite.  They are a little bit more in price but they are really good.  If you go to pirate 4x4s fourm they have a review on them. 

They arnt made for the zuks thou, but if you ever are going to switch to yota axles then you could get the aussie lockers.  They are well well worth it.

i have a arb air locker in front and a lock rite in the rear and that set up is mint     
so far the best ive had
87 sammy 33's sometimes on 35s hole lot of extras 4 link arb lockers built tcase and tranny 1.6 dual weber carbs racing seats snorkle and so on.........ALOT MORE..........
