I had a 1.3 with dual 40s and it ran mint.   Now i put a 1.6 motor in and put the webers on it and it runs like poop.  Do i need to change jets or can i just readjust the screws...  Any help would be nice i need to get it running agian. if i do need jets which ones would be the ones to put in it.
im thinking 120 mian jets and 170 air corectors?? dose that sound about right?  or is the stock 115 and 200 ok??? thank-s everyone

If they have been sitting a while pull the mains and the air jets and check them to make sure that they are not clogged. also check the manifold vacuume, and timming.

I found one guy thru Reynold's machine in CA.  He was very knowledgeable about the Webers.
Unfortunately lost his e-mail address when my hard drive fried.

Fundamentals are the same. I've had mikuni and weber sidedrafts on both 1.6 8-valves and 1.3 engines. That carburator set the the story was about came off of a 1.6 and was put on a high po 1.3 that Reynolds machine built for me. I had to up the main jets!

The carburator requirements for the 1.3 and 1.6 8-valve are very similar. SO much so that an older used up 1.6 may take less fuel/air than a fresh or hopped up 1.3 and vice versa.

Are you sure the 1.6 that you installed is running correctly?

How are your plugs looking after a bit of running around?

One thing I like to do and it works really good if you have a header and still works if you have a exhaust manifold is get a squirt bottle with some water and spray the individual header tubes as they come out of the head. You can tell how hot each cylinder is running (roughly) and also tell if you have a dead hole or one that is running off a bit. Then you can focus on that.

Hope that helps, -Eric

i just got sone with putting the new jets in i put the 120 main jets and got it really close it runs alot better but not perfect yet.  It wont come back down at idle when you hit the gas it goes up up up and dont come back. maybe it just needs a lil oil and i guess if i buy a tuning tool ill get them right..

Yes, you need a flow 'tuning tool' that should be standard issue sold with the carbs. If the throttle is sticking, make sure you have mounted the carbs properly, If one is cocked off to the side or unlevel with the other, they can bind.

It sounds like you could have a vacuum leak and maybe a bad egr valve. do you have a vaccum advance on the dist.? is the hose on your egr? take the manifold back off and see how the gasket looks and how it is hitting the head.

I run three pounds on a single spring float, and five pounds on a double spring float.
