Bought a V6 for the kick this weekend!
« on: January 09, 2005, 07:47:41 AM »
Well I got lucky on fri  I noticed an ad in the papaer for a Zuki motor for sale. And by Sat morning my dad and I's bank account were each out 500 bucks. But our truck was full o goodies ;D

Here is what we came home with and I have to pick up more on Mon:

1 2.5l V6 Vitara with only 32,000 miles
1 Auto trans
1 Transfer case
All the wiring intact
all the computers
the enitre dash asselmbly
front brakes w/ caliper and some suspension parts
both front axels
both cats comin off the manifolds
the y pipe with cat and o2s sensors
power steering pump
a/c pump
muffler

On Moday i still have to pick up:
The entire car wiring harness
Box of little stiff ie power door locks windows and stuff
door panels
carpet
back seats
streering coulum
a door
and some other stuff

So now we are just going to have to save up some dough to swap in the motor and stuff. So if anyone has any ifo/advice on how to do this swap plaese let me know. Like what else I mgith need or some things to look out for. Also what kinda power does the 2.5l put out? We are also going to be putting in the anvil soon can I use the driver side front axel from the vitara on my anvil set up?

ANy parts we dont use are for sale so if you need any thing just pm me and I wil look and see if we got it.

The guy is also selling a 2004 Vitara with only 2000 miles on it for 14,000 it does have a reconstructed title thought but is in perfect shape.

Thanks in advance for any help

What year did it come out of? Reason I asked is because the 2.5ltrs' power was bumped up in the newer ones. I think they used elements from the XL-7s' exhaust (cats and stuff) to do it.

It came out of a 2000 or 99 I cant remeber off the top of my head. I picked up the wiring harness today.. talk about complete it still has the ingnition system and a key :D It has the same looking cats and y pipe that the 2.7 have I think.
I am gonna do an inventory of all the stuff we got with it 2night. and take pics. There is a alot of stuff I dont think I am gonna need.
Also the guy I bought it from has a buddy who is parting out another GV so if I am missing anything vital I can get it form the other guy.
