problems with fuel pump
« on: December 13, 2006, 06:02:19 PM »
I think my mechanical fuel pump might be bad! what does the tube coming off of the fuel pump that goes down and connects to nothing go to. I have oil coming out of mine. And I have fuel in my oil I think it stinks like gas, but it is not overfilling with oil like I have had a vehicle before. I cant explain it can anybody help?

That pipe is a breather, it sounds like the diaphragm has gone bad. Best to replace it as soon as possible, fuel in the oil thins it out and it could wreck the engine. Its probably not overfilling because its evaporating.
