96 tracker still gong strong!
« on: December 23, 2006, 03:12:26 PM »
hey guys... some bittersweet news...  i was in a car wreck friday night, dec 22....  i got rear ended by a drunk guy...  the tracker has a broken seat, crushed tailgate, bumper, and gas tank, and the metal bar going across the bumper broke off and is in my back seat..  the guy was in a 2000'ish model chevy pickup, and it ruined his whole front end..  i don't even think he touched his brakes before he hit me...  his airbags deployed, tires pointing in all directions, busted radiator, engine bay looked about half the size that it should have been because it crushed up so much... he got carried away in the cop car, and his truck ended up on a rollback...  i drove away just being a little sore...  the part that pisses me off is that first of all, he was drunk... second of all, he has no insurance...    the part that makes me feel good is that i may be able to get a much needed new car out of the deal!  i had made the decision to take a job in birmingham, AL, which is about an hour away from my house...  and i need a better vehicle than the tracker to drive that far everyday...  i've been looking at the 07 GV for about a week now, so maybe it will work out in the end..

Wow, glad you are ok! That's the part that matters!   An 07 GV would be sweet!

Good to know you are ok.  The Zuki to.  :P

I was tempted to go for a GV when they had the deals on the 06's a few months ago.

;D  Glad you are OK!!  Yep definitely take it easy a couple of days -- when I had my wreck (my dad's '69 Ford Torino -- I T-Boned a '70 Firebird |removethispart|@ 65mph)  I was very sore for about 2 weeks.
I felt like I was beat up with a bat.

well guys... it is truly a sad day for me..  actually, this past week.... they decided to total out the tracker, so today, i've got to clean it out and say goodbye...  oh, and the 07 GV most likely isn't gonna happen...  in fact, it looks like i'm gonna have to say goodbye to my offroading days period!   well, for now anyway...  i'm most likely gonna be getting a car or 2wd truck or suv... i've got a new job starting up, and i'll have to drive about an hour to and from work every day... so i need something easy on gas...  and something that i can feel safe in on the interstate on a windy day (when i drove the tracker to birmingham, which is where my new job is at, the crosswinds scared me to death)... i may stop by in the forums every once in a while to see what's going on, but the whole zuki scene is just no longer for me...

before i leave, i want to say that i love y'all guys, thanks for all the inspiration, advice, and just all around good memories...
