I'm also in the hunt for flares (on the cheep) ...

There is this ... buy by the foot, make it work (shipping was the screw that stopped me from buying).

I've seen this too (lebra), but sorta spendy when you do all 4.

I've also heard CJ flares can be made to work ... On my 4x4 swap meet list this spring.

I figure it's all the same rubber extrusion, just how you buy it :)

JC Whitney has similar flare material, and if you catch them at the right time, shipping could be free (I got free shipping on my steel wheels, which rocked :P)

fairly sure bushwacker makes cool molded ones that look oem.  the downside is they are like 600 bucks for the set and not very big (i.e. wide).
if not bushwacker some company does for sure just not sure of the name.

I run YJ flares on my kick.  I also have 6" extended flares availible also.  The YJ flares are as easy to put on as running some screws.

Interestingly, Brent at TrailTough says their Sammi flares will work fine on a kick.

Same thing for Zukboys flares.

...and I still don't have flares.

I tried a Zuk Boy flare for size against mine, It looked like crap really and it also covered the fuel filler flap.

They are also VERY thin and the set I tried had cracked around the mounting hole, not really what I call trail rated flares.

I'm thinking of using some thin (3/16") polyethylene sheet cut into  strips (I only need 2"more cover) screw it up under the guard then trim it to shape. It should take a beating and yet still be flexible enough to not pull the screws out or damage the guard.

Actually I might make that Todays project (it's Saturday here  ;D) if I have some P/E sheet at work  ;)

Huh - well, in Colorado, they don't require flares, but it sure is annoying when you're wheeling on wet trails, and the rear tires throw mud on the inside of the windshield, on the dash, in your hair, on your dog (Ashes doesn't really care), and on your wife (that's the one that actually makes this an issue!!!)

I saw that "issue" coming :) ... I know law enforcement uses it as an excuse here to bust boneheads, but usually an informal warning for those that aren't morons.

stock samurai flares work great. Check wildweasel's web site. He has a set on his in the begining of its build. I'm about to put a set on my tracker.

Yeah,

I'm running the JC Whitney ones also.  I got the surface mount ones so I could hack the back of the front fenders a little bit.  I'll try to post pics as soon as I get them back...
