Lifted the gas tank...
« on: January 04, 2007, 10:45:13 PM »
Before starting the rear bumper, I wanted to get the tank up and out of the way, so I didn't get much done on the bumper. I followed Mike Hagen's instuctions but it was a bit harder the his write-up made it out to be. It seems the pre-95 models take a little more finesse to get it to work (Mike mentioned that in his write-up). It was worth it though.

Very nice!!  I posted a thread earlier last week about doing a tank lift with only a 2" body lift but heck, who knows, I might just build a budget 3" body lift and then do the tank lift like you did.  What problems did you run in to specific to the pre-95 models?  Mine is a 1990 Geo.

Looking at your rig makes me wish I was living back up in Southern Alberta.  I would have to make a trip up to the home of The Flames to check out your rig.  It's sweet.

IIt's there, I just lobbed it of near the rear shock. No plans for the exaust yet...but maybe in the spring.

This pic shows it a bit better.

Did you fill the tank with helium? Your car seems to float, is it high enough? ;D

I'll be taking the 1" coil spacers out next weekend...I went a little crazy when I installed everything. :P

It looks taller than it is because of the lack of a rear bumper (which will also be going on next weekend ;)).
