where and where not to weld in diff?

There is an article on how to fab a "Fozzy Locker" coming in February at iZook.com with lots of pictures and technical tips.  Bill "Smitty808" Smith, one of the Bedford Boys, field-fabbed (literally! ;D ) one for his nephew Adam at the '06 'Melt.  They beat the .... out of it and it held up quite well.

if and when i weld a rear diff. i weld the spider gears together and also the side gears to the diff. case. have not had any problems yet.....  (knock on wood)     stan

I've been running my Tracker rear Fozzy welded for 4 years now as a DD as well as pounding the pee out of it offroad with no problems to date. I'm running 34" tires also
