Wheel/spacer help
« on: February 11, 2007, 03:22:44 PM »
I'm about to put some 235/75 R15's on my stock-height 97 4dr sidekick.  I'm prepared for the minor trimming needed up front (according to folks on this forum), but I need help getting the right wheels.

I want to widen the stance a bit, so that the tires are slightly "outside" of the fenders when looking at it from the front or back.  I was thinking of just getting some inexpensive black steel wheels, or should I just get spacers and use the stock wheels?

If I should get some new wheels, what backspacing should I tell them I need?

Mainly this is a daily driver and desert wheeler, no mud, no snow, no crawling, what's a goodish inexpensivish tire?

I've seen 15x8 steel wheels in black for as little as $39. on some web sites. Thats cheaper than some well made spacers. Probably want to go with a 3-3.5 inch backspace? But there are more wheel threads if you use the search button I'm sure.

With 235s, you could just go with some 15x7s (I've done this twice)
Standard off-set would be 3 1/2- 3 3/4.
