Wet Feet
« on: February 20, 2007, 09:17:27 AM »
Alright here is my problem,  When my samurai sits out for a couple of days and it rains.  All the water is pooling up in my vent infront of the winsheild (on the out side).  Its super annoying when you get in your rig, and make a left hand turn and all the water comes rushing down onto your feet and legs.

I know j**ps have this same problem too, but they sell covers for the vents.

Is there anyway to fix this? Or am i going to have to make a cover?

Any info would be great

Thanks

Amilla

There are two drains for that vent that lead through the firewall and dump out inside the engine compartment. They are fairly easy to clean once you know what your looking for.

just open your hood and look at the fire wall down twards the bottom, there should be a black 3/4'' elbow looking thing not hooked to anything just kinda sitting there. we use magnetic signs cut up to cover the vents here where it gets below zero.

I covered mine because mud would get in it and it would be a bitch to clean so I did away with it by using a piece of diamond plate
when in doubt gas it!!

Grab a hose and blast the vent out. Those drains get plugged from the inside of the vent by leaves and other debris.

I think i am going to just cover mine up, or do somthing of that sort...It rains sooo much here.

mrfuelish i accutly had a magnetic sign stuck to my washing machine, just ran out and covered the vent a second ago.  Its been raining for almost 12 hours now, and its a been a steady down pour the whole time.

Thanks for all the information about this, it really helped out a lot.

I think im just going to make a shroud for it

Ill post some pics of it when im down with it

Thanks a lot
