2004 XL7 questions about 3rd seat
« on: March 01, 2007, 01:02:12 PM »
Hi-first time poster.  I am looking at buying a 2004 XL7.  How hard is it to remove the 3rd row seat?  How easy is it to re-install?  I would need to remove it to allow for more cargo room when camping, but for day to day driving, I would leave it in.  Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Our 2002 doesn't have the 3rd row in it and from looking around I believe they didn't do anything special other than replace the rear seats with some kind of space filling Styrofoam and a framework to keep it in place.

I'd imagine you could remove yours easily enough.  I haven't looked into it further but I figure if I ever need to I can do the reverse and put a 3rd row in if we need the seats that regularly.

I have to tell ya I have the 3rd row just fold it down. Hell I even sleep back their one night wasn't bad would do it again to.  But if you realy want to take it out I think it's just 4 or 6 bolt holding it in place.

What do you mean by taking it out?  I have a 2003.  The seat portion of the third row just comes right out and can be snapped right back in.  Then the back of the seat folds down and makes a flat cargo area.  That being said I took ours out for a trip once.  Just fold the seat down and the room is just about the same.
