Sigh MORE motor troubles :(
« on: March 03, 2007, 07:21:27 PM »
so i put up a post before about the kick dieing and it was diagnosed and we found out it was deffinantly the fuel injector..so i got a new one and installed it last nite i touched NOTHING but the fuel injector and parts that were required to get it out and put in the new one..

now it seems something is grounding bad enough to make the neg cable on the battery warm :( and gas is dripping from behind the the motor near the bell housing..im out of money this week to spend on repair people over charging me so its upto me to figure this out again but i have no idea where to start :(

i am not even sure how to go about trying to find whatever is grounding. if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated i know i probably screwed something up but the choice between rent and having someone else fix my car was an easy one even if i did mess the car up more i still have a home

i know this a long shot and i dug the hole but i miss driving my little kick :( hopefully i can get it back on the road soon

The neg cable is probably bad.

A  fuel line is probably worn at a  connection. High pressure I think? Maybe a worn out coupling? I only have a carb'd sammy so I don't know how the f.i. is set up. Just look over what you did on the fuel hook up. Sometimes when you take things apart, they are too worn to go back together without leaking.

im hoping i can kind of just start tracing lines and cables in hopes that i find whats wrong..wondering id trying different fuses might help to eliminate problems.

well it seems as though the problems were a bit worse with the old fuel injector then i thought it had flooded the engine and hydro locked it  :o so i pulled the plugs and put it in gear then rocked it back and forth so the gas came out. the starter now spins the motor freely and the cables no longer get hot so now i just have to replace the plugs and then i can see if the new fuel injector will acctually work :( sigh

you might want to change your oil if you had that much gas in the cyl.
