lifted tracker rear shocks...

ok here is the deal, I have the boondox 3 inch lift 4 doof coil springs in my 2 door tracker.  I need to know how I should go about the rear shocks... what sizes anyone have part numbers??

i know 92 ford crown vic rear shocks are like 2 or so inches longer im not sure..but they bolt right up.  there only like 20 bucks a piece if you takin the cheap route..found at any part store

I went with the Crown Vic shocks as well, they ended up being a bit softer then my previous ones though.  Next time I'm just going to cut the lower mounts and rotate them around so they are two inches higher.  That way the axle protects the bottom of the shocks rather then leaving them hanging down there to get caught on rocks.

same here with the crown vicky shocks....and, at full droop in the rear the coil is still nicely seated. a much nicer ride as mentioned!!!

Actually I ended up installing a rear sway bar to get rid of all the body roll I ended up having with the 1" spacers and the softer shocks.  But she handles great now.  :)

really....u installed another sway bar?? i recently removed my front sway bar because of my stiff front suspension....too care of it, mines ridin like a hillbilly cadillac....not too bad on the road either, its not a racecar, thou

i went whit cherokee front shock, i put the hydraulique shocks instead (pro comp es 3000) i fine there a bit stiffer then stock but works great

try out the mornoe sensa trac shocks.....part # 5961.....thats the part # for the rear crown vic shocks

i think some guys have used either 4runner rears or fj fronts.  try searching for it and i'm almost sure you'll find something, these shocks are probably an inch longer than the crown vics.  also look into f-150 2wd drive rears, i think a few guys have used those also and they are even longer.

Best thing I have done to it so far, but mine is a DD.  I have my SJ for beating up on the trails.  :D

I bought the Calimini kit rather then go with a normal install kit from a racing magazine, someone else here did that.  After some modifications the Calimini kit worked in the rear, but I wouldn't buy it again.  It didn't come close to fitting until I bend the sway bar links to almost straight.  As it is I would have needed about 4" of lift for it to even start to have fit like they wanted.

The thicker front sway bar is sitting there waiting to be installed.  I love how the rear end just tucks itself in on corners though, you can really slide in at speed where before it felt like the entire vehicle was going to flip.  It handles almost like a sports car, but there is a bit to much roll in the front.  I'm not sure if the new sway bar would cause the front end to skid across the road when it hits bumps at speed though...  I'll probably put it on in a month when I'm done traveling to get ready for the auto cross season.  A friend of mine has a 350Z and I want to be able to put better times down on the course.  :P
