A loose electrical connector...
« on: December 22, 2004, 02:38:26 AM »
I found this blue connector hanging loose near the battery, and I can't find any place to connect it.
Does anyone know what it is, and where it should be connected?

The car is a 1990 auto 2 door Vitata, Japanese made.

Tnx

Sometimes connectors are left like
that for a diagnostic computer to
hook up to.

Do you have anything that doesn't work ?
Any problems you can't explain ?

Well, I've installed a bodylift lately, and sins then I've got problems with the auto tranny shifting...
Beside that, everything works OK.

I have a connector similar to that on my '92 that doesn't go any where.  I believe Wild's right in that its for diagnostic purposes.

That is the same area that cruise control is mounted on my 2wd. If you do not have cruise, it may be the facory plug for cruise.

Looks like the diag plug to me

My 91 has 2 plugs right there one is the diag plug (mine has a rubber cap that mighta been lost on yours) I also have a plug for wht I believe is the TCC relay (I see yours in the pic that I don't have)
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

Thanks for all yore help, guys  :o
It's the diagnostic plug alright.

While searching the web for an answer, I ran into this PDF file:

http://www.carsoft.ru/avtorepair/suzuki2.pdf

At page 4 (Fig. 3), you can see the plug.

The file contains a lot of info, that I think you all can find it handy.

BTW, in the file they are referring to 2 types of Sidekick, TBI and MPI.
what is the difference between them?

The TBI is single throttle body injection on the 8 valves and the MPI is the multi port injection of the 16 valves.

Thanks for the link to that article!
