P.S.  Chebby parts are not allowed in the shop so a 4.3 is out.

4.3's aren't light by any means anyway :D

Caution, Honda engines rotate the opposite way form every other engine out there.  you'll have 5 speed in reverse and 1 forward... sounds like fun

well i guess the engine swap is out of my price league =\ which really does blow. but instead it gives me money for my lift and gears. maybe if someone were to design a kit for them to bring the parts together and install for 5k..i bet that'd be really popular  ;)

I fully expect you'll see "packages" from those guys for kick/tracs (sammies have probably been the bread and butter for quite a while).

Funny you should mention that   ;D
Coming from tha trucking industry, I
have been aquainted with these little
diesels for some time, and the thought
had crossed my mind to put one into
a Suzuki, after all they are Japaneese
and Korean engines. Of coarse it would
have a turbo and a tweeked fuel system
for more power, these little engines only
put out around 30 HP but they are very
high torque. Turbo would increase the
output by 20 to 30 HP  ;D

I don't know, but being a Diesel they
are all Cast Iron, as opposed to a aluminum
block and head with steel sleeves, but it
would get like 40 MPG which is a significant
increase of fuel efficiency, as well as Diesel
which is off of the smog rolls  ;D

I bet it would be twice the weight of a
stock engine, but this would allow the
3+3 to be more comfy on the butt   ;)

Good question, I think the VWs are a high
speed engine, can probably hit 4000 RPM
but I don't know what the design spec for
a Yanmar  or a ThermoKing engine, I think
about 3000 or more tho depending on the
stroke of the crankshaft.

The big diesels like the one I drove, 12L
Cat C-12  are 2000 max, and work at 1200
to 1800 RPM  but these engines produce
400-475 HP and like 1200 Ft Lbs Torque  :o

And that my friend will move you and 80,000
down the road while getting 7 MPG.

ok i guess the plans are still to drop that into a sammy.  i need somthing that can go 6000RPM and stay there.   so i saw some one put an old Rotory Mazda in a sammy on IZOOK.  Rotory's are high RPM engines right?

Why 6000 RPM ???  Diesels don't need
to spin that fast to move you, that's why
you can drive 60 MPH at 1200 RPM in a
Semi Truck, you would have to regear the
trucklet to the RPM and torque range of the
new engine, low T-case and high (4.62s) diff
gears would be a good combo for that setup
