Trailtough SAS Tracker
« on: April 17, 2007, 06:38:02 PM »
Hey all,
I posted up a video to youtube of our new tracker with the Trailtough kit. Pardon my video skills but it shows the trucklet flexing pretty well.  This was Kestrel's first time driving the geo with the new kit and she loved it.

here is the link:

(it may take a couple minutes to post, I am uploading from singapore) I kicked the resolution down so the file wouldn't be a monster

Hutch

yeah it works super well. I have alot of weight in the truck with  the full shrockworks bumpers and sliders. (I beat the shit out of the shrockworks stuff and it is really tuff stuff) so my up travel is small. Like 2" so ralling is a bit rough, but that is easily adjusted with some longer springs. The kit uses a standard AFCO spring so you can dial it in to height you want. The TT kit was actually pretty straight forward to put on. It took me about a month and a half of working a couple hours after work and a weekend day each weekend. The axles I got for next to nothing and they were in really bad shape to I have atleast several weeks into just building axles.  I have a single car garage which works as a primitive shop and I built it in the driveway. I had help from a local automotive shop with all the welding. I stripped the axles and we burned in all the TT brackets in about 1.5 hrs. I took them home built the truck and then took the truck back to my mechanic for some remaining mild welding and exhaust. We are supper happy with it.  This truck is really capable and easy to drive.  It's alot of fun to whip shitties in too. I think Kestrel whips shitties every time she gets behind the wheel. (shitties is minesotean for donuts!)
