Dieseling problem
« on: May 11, 2007, 12:07:09 PM »
Hey all,

my 88 samurai is dieseling pretty bad when i turn it off.

I have a new O2 sensor in it.  Put it in a couple of months back, it stopped it from doing it for a while but now its back, along with back fireing.

Does anyone know what other sensors to check?  Possibly other carb problems, i just need to know where to start looking.

Anyone else had these problems?

any info would be great

Thanks

Amilla

Not a Sammy owner, but have diagnosed that symptom on other motors. Check your idle speed, simple to do. Too high an idle will cause run on. Timing off? that will also cause the same sympton, as well as others. Does the exhaust smell rich? Carb problem. Just a few things to look at, but there are much more knowledgeble Sammy owners out there. Good luck.
