You can use the stock shocks, you just need to swap your spring pads around.  Right pad goes on the left, left pad goes on the right.    You won't gain to much flex because your shocks will limit travel, but you should be fine for driving.

I would recommend at least half of an over the top steering setup.  It eliminates a lot of the bump steer that a large Z-Steering bar gives you.  Do a search on SOA and SPOA on the site and you should be able to find lots of information on doing your own kit and what is needed.

actually, with the CALMINI bolt-on SPOA you cannot use the stock shocks.  Check before guessing.  ::) They keep the lower shock mount in the stock position unlike any other SPOA kit allowing for more articulation.  Using a stock spring with their bolt-on kit will use a standard 5" lifted Samurai shock in both the front and rear.  The other concern...I doubt that kit will correctly install onto an SJ410 axle.

Pardon me for not being exact enough for some people on the board.   :P

You would have to place your standard spring pad on top of the replacement top pad that Calmini provides as well as switching sides so your shock mounts line up correctly.  This would basically add a spacer to the top of the spring pad and the stock Calmini bolts may not be long enough.  It also might interfere with the bump stop plates if those are supposed to go on the front end, glancing at the base design.

It would also leave you with two shock mounts, an upper and lower mount.  The lower one would just be asking to be broken off, so it would probably be better to replace the shocks at the same time.

DD is probably right about the axles though, it's been so long since I had the stock axles on mine I can't remember if the axle tubes are the same size or not...  The bump stops would have to be modified as the 410 springs sit under the frame instead of being off-set to the outside.
