« on: December 12, 2004, 02:51:44 PM »
my 89 sidetracker idles from 1500 to 3000 rpm up and down . my friend also has the same problem so this should be a common one . anybody know how to fix this ? it sounds as if you are appling the gas and lettin off . it dosent do it all the tyme but i would say 60 % . most when the engine is cold .

The cold idle is always a problem,
there is a "wax" pellet in the cold
idle valve, this seems to be where
the problem is, I haven't tried to fix
mine yet, but I'm about ready to look
at this problem, I mean it's only been
15 years that it's been doing that   ;)

It's very intermittent on my '90 also, and I've just lived with it, but, you may want to look at this thread...
