I have kicked around the idea of clear coating it, just for grins..

Clear coat OD looks pretty cool to me.. but then again, I am kinda nutz...

My buddy works at a body shop here, and i told him i wanted to use some Flat color to paint my sammy with.  He told me about a special clear that goes onto flat paint that will make it smooth to the touch, but wont be shiny so it will still have the look of being flat.  I forgot what it was called thou, anyone else know what im talking about?

Yeah, and that is why I am holding off on fixing the front end of the tracker until I can buy or build a good bumper. Odds are, if I fix it before getting a better bumper, more deer will run out in front of me and destroy the expensive body work parts :P
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)

MAN~!!!
I wish my truck looked that good when i got it, thats nothing compared to what I got into!
Up here in Canada, your more likley to get pulled over for a rivet being present on your, rather than a whole bumper/rocker panel missing from rust. ???

When you start talking about body mounts collapsing and coming through the floor and pinning you foot up against the dash board, then you know you have rust issues....

Or when your buddy sits in your back seat and endds up riding on the frame crossmember.... yeah it happened...

Cool!  I'll race ya!

I have the front seats and carpet out of it now.  I have some rust removal to do before I can patch the holes in the floor.   By then the carpet should be dry, and I can put it back in.

I also have some extensive work to do around the tailgate/rear bumper area.

How does yours look?

Hah, sure.  Let's race.  I am almost done patching up the driver side floor...then I need to tear apart the passenger side and fix all the holes there.  I'm just dreading taking that rear bumper off....

My body work is similar and the painting is about the same. Canadian Tire stores sell flat paint in camo, they have 4-5 different colors from sand to black and with a zuke you can buy two cans of the base color that you want and then one of every other color and then just go to town. I'll try to find a pic to show you how it looks.

Good part about a paint job like that it...when you get scratches you grab the can and every spring you just rub off the dirt, dust and mud and spray over everything. If you want to get the paint to dry fast you just jump on the highway right after spraying.

Around here they came up with a stupid law that rivets are not safe, all patches must be FULLY welded. No rivets or screws or big gobs of tar. So we use the rivets and cover the whole thing with long strand fiberglass.....what they don't see won't hurt them.
