How big a tire can I put on a stock Zuk
« on: May 23, 2007, 04:12:45 PM »
I have a 94 JX 4x4 with factory alloy wheels.  Went looking for new tires with an aggresive tread, but the problem I found was 205/75/R15 are not easy to get with AT tread.  So I am thinking of going to 220/70/R15 or somewhere in that area.  Has anyone put bigger tires on a STOCK 4x4 and not had problems with rubbing or etc.  Any info would be appreciated, belive it or not but the 205 cost more than the bigger tires.  Thanks

I had 215-75-15 All Terrains on mine with stock rims for a little while. They slightly rubbed the frame at full lock, but I had my steering stops adjusted for maximum steering, too...

I have heard of people running 235's on stock rims as well, but I haven't tried it myself.
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

235s worked fine on my stock alloys-- no rubbing, but others have had minor rubbing issues on the frame, bumper trim, or rear wheel wells.

235's worked stock, but I had to trim the bottom of the front bumper.  Not sure about the wheels though, as they were aftermarket to begin with.
